Together, they blend genres and eras seamlessly, creating a rich and captivating sound that takes audiences on a journey through time.
Steve Rae is a Muskoka-based singer/songwriter whose music career spans decades, rooted in his early love for stringed instruments. He first picked up an ukulele at age six, later transitioning to guitar and banjo in his teens. Over the years, Steve has refined his craft through a variety of performances, from intimate pub gigs (including one venue where he played every Thursday night for 13 years) to concert stages across Ontario with his band The Pony Man Band.
His talent has earned him the opportunity to open for some of Canada's finest musicians, including Murray McLauchlan, Valdy, and Loreena McKennitt.
A prolific songwriter, Steve has written over 150 original songs, blending his musical skills with a deep connection to storytelling. Steve's musical journey was significantly influenced by the legendary Gordon Lightfoot, whose songs he first discovered in the late 1960s. His passion for Lightfoot's music led to earning recognition for his heartfelt tribute performances with the show Lightfoot, The Legend Lives On that resonates deeply with audiences across Canada and beyond.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Steve embraced the digital world through "Steve's Song Garden," performing daily on Facebook Live for 200 straight days and building a dedicated following of thousands of music fans across the globe.
