In a heartfelt moment that underscores the power of community and legacy, Marsha Barnes (pictured right), representing The Rotary Club of Gravenhurst, board member for the Cottage Country Family Health Team, and a member of the Gravenhurst Health Hub Steering Committee, graciously accepts a generous family legacy donation from the Barr/McGill family. This contribution marks a meaningful step forward in supporting critical local health care for members of Muskoka, and reflects the deep-rooted commitment of Gravenhurst families to the well-being of their neighbours.

The Gravenhurst Health Hub project is a collaborative fundraising initiative designed to bring together funding from government, community service clubs, and local residents to improve access to integrated, patient-centered care. Gravenhurst is in a health care crisis with half of our citizens lacking access to a local primary health care practitioner. For Muskoka to expand offerings that meet the evolving needs of the region, donations like the Barr/McGill legacy gift play a vital role in helping meet the Gravenhurst Health Hub project goal. These funds will help complete the infrastructure within the Cottage Country Family Health Team Center to enable room for more care teams, and ensure that residents, from young families to aging seniors, receive timely, compassionate care, close to home.
