Rotary Club of Gravenhurst enter Santa Claus Parade with awareness float.

The Gravenhurst Rotary Club brought festive cheer and a powerful message to this year’s Santa Claus Parade with a vibrant holiday float dedicated to the Gravenhurst Health Hub project.

Adorned with twinkling ornaments, a fully decorated Christmas tree, and cheerful volunteers dressed as elves and.. what’s that? Doctors?! With full examination table aboard, the float lit up the streets with both holiday spirit and community purpose. At the heart of the display was our bold sign reading “Gravenhurst Health Hub,” reminding parade-goers that behind the celebration lies a vital initiative to improve access to primary care in the region.

This creative effort wasn’t just about spreading joy, it was about sparking awareness. With half of our local residents facing long waits for family doctors and limited access to consistent care, the Gravenhurst Health Hub project aims to bring together nurse practitioners, physicians, and allied health professionals under one roof. The Rotary Club’s float helped highlight the urgency of this solution, showing that health care advocacy can be woven into even the most joyful community traditions. By participating in the parade, the club reached hundreds of families, turning a holiday moment into a chance to educate and inspire.

The Rotary Club of Gravenhurst has long been a champion of community well-being, and their support for the Health Hub reflects their commitment to practical, people-first solutions. Their float was more than decoration, it was a call to action, inviting residents to learn more, get involved, and support a future where everyone in Gravenhurst has access to timely, team-based care. As the float rolled down the street, it carried not just garlands and gifts, but a message of hope for a healthier, more connected community.
