October Fundraising Update

There has been such amazing progress in October’s fundraising that the Cottage Country Family Health Team is considering beginning the planning for the tendering process which will be announced at a later date. The project fund, currently split into two phases so that work can begin before all the funds have been raised, sits at just over $950,000 of the $1,200,000 total needed for both phase 1 and phase 2.

What a phenomenal month of community engagement we have had. Bracebridge Rotarian Bob Jacob recently presented Gravenhurst Health Hub project Chair Bruce Hemphill with a cheque for $75,000.00 adding to his previous donation of $25,000 and bringing Bob’s total contributions to the GHH to $100,000.00!

Our Lip Sync Legends Showdown was an evening of sing-along fun and raised $2,165. Talk about putting the “fun” in fundraising.

Bob and Dale Barnes added their name to our amazing gold level sponsors with a $10,000 donation.

The Barr/McGill Family Legacy donates $40,000 to add themselves to our gold level community partners.

Bonnie and Bruce Dart also donated $10,000 to health for all Gravenhurst to become gold level sponsors as well!

Finally, the generosity of the Cooper family, John and Denise, continues. They enjoyed the Lip Sync Legends show so much they committed to matching the evening’s fundraising and donated another $5,000 bringing their family donated total up to $115,000!

When complete, this project will make a significant impact on the lives and health of Gravenhurst residents, half of whom don't have a local primary care practitioner. Recruitment for new providers is being planned by the Cottage Country Family Health Team in Gravenhurst to take advantage of the brand-new expansion on the second floor of 5 Pineridge Gate, home of the Gravenhurst Health Hub project.

A huge thanks to all in our community making this happen. We are building something that will serve generations to come and put an end to the healthcare crisis in Gravenhurst.
